Be Your Own Beautiful

It's Friday and that means it's time for Unity Stamps Fridays With Flair!  I used my November SMAK kit to make this CAS card.  CAS is not my style but I like to branch out now and then.

It's totally not how it started out, but I like it.

Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge, Week Nine

This challenge was sooooooo fun for me!  If you're following along at Linda Ledbetter's blog, you know that the deadline for the COC3 Challenge is coming soon, but I've made it!  This time around we're challenged to play with Framelits!  If you don't have a copy of A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 3, you can pick one up here.

Their lovely sponsor this week is the always amazing Inspiration Emporium!  One lucky winner will get a $50 gift certificate!

I'm in a fall frame of mind, so I made a Halloween card.

I'm of course linking to a few challenges:

A Unicorn Without A Horn

When I was little, I believed that any horse with wings was a unicorn.  It took me a few years to get that the horn was what made it a unicorn, not the wings.  I also had to understand that wings are not mandatory on unicorns.  It was a hardship.

I've been toying around with this card for awhile and today I just went for it and threw it together in minutes.  I'm LOVING how it came out!!

**Back To School** New Challenge With Creative Moments!

Happy Hump Day!  It's a new challenge at Creative Moments and as always our theme is ANYTHING GOES with the option of Back To School!  Our lovely sponsor is QKR Stampede and they have some great digis for teachers, which is rare.  I chose to use Teachers Are... because I find this quote to be so true.  I have friends who are teachers and I'm so grateful that people like them devote their lives to helping our kids discover and grow.

I'm linking to a few challenges:

Be sure to visit the blog and check out what the rest of the DT have created.  You have two weeks to play with us and can enter up to three times. Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting.  Laters!

#Believe #Joy

Have you guys seen the skit from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon where he and Justin Timberlake say #HASHTAG like 100 times?  Everytime I use this stamp set, I think of that skit.  Anyways, I'm at the last minute again for Tis The Season Stamping's challenge, and this time it's an inspiration photo.

While I was creating my card, I realized that it would also fit perfectly with the sketch challenge at Digi Sketch Challenge.

Here's what I made:

No matter what I did, the light colors didn't photograph well.  I really like the monochromatic design though.  It definitely didn't start out that way, but I'm happy with it.

Just four challenges today....
I'm getting quite an amount of Christmas cards made.  That's kind of exciting to me.  Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting.  Laters!

Less Is More?

I am not usually the CAS type.  I like my glitter and my dimension and flowers and other embellishment goodies.  Every now and then though, I'll try to scale things back a bit and see what I can come up with. I really like not keeping myself in a box for too long, so this card was good for me.  I couldn't decide on color schemes, so you'll see another similar one in a few days.  I have to say I'm not wholeheartedly sure if this style is me or not.  I think sometimes I try too hard.

I used a watercolor background and TBH my inspiration came from just playing with the die.  I kept cutting feathers and they were piled on the floor and this card was born.

Also - My TIP for Top Tip Tuesday is this: If you're wet-embossing a background and you make a mistake, just cover it up with a die cut!  That's what I did here, and you can't even tell where I missed stamping. :)

Love this color against the background, don't you?

Joy, Wish, Christmas

I'm in a hurry, last minute as always, but I've thrown this Christmas card together after getting my latest Anna Griffin package from HSN in the mail.  Oh how I'm going to miss those and there is only one left!  Anyways I made this card special for the challenge at Crafty Hazelnuts.  She's got a "Favorite Things" theme going on, so I chose to use ALL my favorites!  Embossing, bling, twine, tags and glitter!  Those Wink of Stella pens are the best invention on Earth!  Anyways, here's what I created:

Here's a closeup of some of the shimmeryness.

Did I already say I LOVE those Wink of Stella pens?!?!?

**Dig Deep** New Challenge with Crafty Creations!

It's time for a new challenge at Crafty Creations and the theme is Dig Deep (use something OLD from your stash) and I decided to pull out a random OLD stamp and make it seem new again!

I used old embossing powder, too, that had never been used.  The flowers are old too, and the rhinestones.  Only the base card is newish, like six months or so.

ALSO we're having a DT call!!  If you'd like to join our fabulous team, just put a DT after your entry into the challenge!  You must have an active blog, be able to commit to two projects a month, comment on weekly entries and host the challenge every twelve weeks.  Good luck!

Don't forget to check out the blog to see what the other DT have created with this fun theme.  You've got two weeks to shop your stash and play along with us.  Thanks so much for looking and happy crafting.  Laters!

**Your FAVORITE Challenge** New Challenge with Hobbycutz!

It's time for a new challenge with Hobbycutz and this fortnight we've got a super fun theme, Your Favorite Challenge!  So think about all those challenges you've been entering, and create a card themed with your favorite.  Mine is (surprise, surprise) BLING!!!  Glitter and rhinestones galore.  I picked the solid butterfly from the Scrapbooking Butterfly Assortment for this card, and painted them before coating them in glitter.  I love how they turned out.  Our lovely sponsor is All Dressed Up!

I've chosen to use the Mirror, Mirror image.  I just love how it has a fairytale element to it.

**Anything Goes** New Challenge with Crafting From the Heart!

It's time for another fun challenge at Crafting From the Heart, and as always, it's Anything Goes!!  I love ATG challenges cause you can create whatever your heart desires.  Sometimes I sit down at my craft table with no plan, grab random supplies and just see what happens.  That's what happened with this weeks' card.  Our lovely sponsor is Dilly Beans, and I chose #366-Quotes to make this card. I've always loved Dr. Seuss.

It's cute right?  But then....

Ta-Dah!  It's an easel card!  I'm so obssesed right now with easel cards.

Shake It Out, Shake It Out

It's one of those crazed weeks the past few days and I'm not sure why, but I can't seem to get much of anything done.

This is a birthday card I made for my brother's girlfriend.  She looooooves cupcakes.  It's so fun to make a custom card, creating your own pattern as you go along.

The pattern was created by copying various coloring pages.  Each layer is separate and was glued together.

You can really see all the sparkly and spangly goodies in this one.

And here's the homemade easel I created.  This was fun but a challenge.  I'll have to try and make another one before I forget how.  LOL.

**Anything Goes/Animals** New Challenge with Creative Moments!

Happy Hump Day!  It's time for another challenge at Creative Moments, and our theme is Anything Goes with the option of using Animals!  Our lovely sponsor is StampArt Design by Kathryne.  I've chosen to use Owl-Ways Party for this card.

The flowers were a last-minute add, but I really like them.

I'm gonna enter just a few challenges:

Tell of The Stars

I've never played with one of Word Art Wednesday's quotes before, but this one really got my creative mind going.  I'm always so to the last minute with these things, but at least I got it done!  I'm very happy to have finished this card and I think I will challenge myself to use their inspirational, Biblical quotes more often.  This week's quote was:

Isn't that pretty?  So I made this:

You'll be seeing this background stamp a lot lately, it's new and one I've coveted for a long time now!

Flooded With Ideas

Rain rain, go away....after an unusually dry summer here, we got about six inches of rain in two hours today.  And it pretty much rained all. Day.  Long.  With freeways underwater and cars stranded everywhere, it was kinda freaky outside but lucky for me I was indoors, crafting away.  I had a lot of stuff in my head to make today, and one of those things was my (always at the last minute) Christmas card for Tis The Season Stamping's Challenge.  It's a sketch challenge this time around, and it's oh-so-cute and was fun to work with.

Here's what I made:

Just two challenges today:

**ANYTHING GOES** New Challenge with Crafty Girls!

Hi everyone!  It's time for a new challenge at Crafty Girls, and as always our theme is Anything Goes!  Our lovely sponsor is A Day For Daisies, and I instantly fell in love with this Cinderella-themed image.  You know me and Disney stuff.

I wanted to go a bit simpler on this card and let the image be the star rather than the embellishments.

I'm entering a few challenges with this card:

**Flower Power** New Challenge with Crafty Creations!

Happy Hump Day!  It's time for another challenge at Crafty Creations and this fortnight our theme is FLOWER POWER!  So get those flower punches, dies and stamps out and let's see what you've got!  I loooove making my own flowers, so I pulled out some fabric scraps and my favorite flower die and got to work for this card.  Our lovely sponsor is Beccy's Place, and I picked a cutesy owl image to create with.

I don't know why but I love the eyebrows on these guys :)

**SKETCH** New Challenge with Hobbycutz!!

This post is SO SO LATE but I wanted to share it anyways!  It's time for a new challenge at Hobbycutz and this fortnight it's a SKETCH challenge!

I love this sketch so fun, and full of possibilities.  Our lovely sponsor is Aurora Wings, and I chose to use Marie Antoinette as my image.  She's so beautiful and has so much detail.

**Anything Goes** New Challenge with Crafting From The Heart!

Happy Monday!  It's time for another challenge at Crafting From The Heart, and as always our theme is ANYTHING GOES!!  We've got a lovely sponsor this week, Aurora Wings!  I've chosen to use this kind of creepy, gothic image Memento Mori, but I tried to pretty the card up a bit.  I like to take things out of their usual element.

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge, Week Seven

Happy Friday!  I'm right under the line again with my project for the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge, but I made it!  (I already know that my New Year's Resolution for 2015 will be to be more punctual!)

The lovely Linda Ledbetter is hosting a super fun challenge this fortnight, with the theme being Painted Industrial.  This can be found on Page 46 of A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 3.  Pick up your own copy here.

Our beautiful sponsor this challenge is Inspiration Emporium!  They're giving away a $50 gift certificate, how much damage could you do with that?  Heehee.

This was my first time working with the Foil Tape Sheets, but I just LOVED them and will work with them again soon!!

I'm still not sure I don't want to add something, but this was a great technique!!

**ANYTHING GOES** New Challenge With Mema's Crafts!

Happy August!!  It's time for a new challenge with Mema's Crafts and we've got a great ANYTHING GOES theme this month!  We had two lovely sponsors to design with this month and at the end of the post there's a wee bonus to share with you all!

The Paper Nest Dolls were nice enough to share the digital image of their rubber stamps with our DT to work with this month.  I love all things Disney, so I picked Genie Avery to make this fun, Aladdin-themed card.

I wanna enter this in a couple challenges:

I love how it turned out.  Such a cute image!

Continuing with my Disney theme, I picked an Alice in Wonderland image from Make It Crafty!  The minute I saw Shrunken Alice, I thought of putting her in my Bell Jar.  Although the "glass" doesn't show up that well in the photo, I'm loving this idea. Gotta do another card with this one soon.

I'm going to enter this in a few challenges:

The surprise I have for you is an EXTRA project to share!  We've got a bonus challenge happening at Mema's Crafts this month!  Just enter your name on the Linky Tool and you could win a super-fun prize!

My bonus project is a set of chipboard letters that I altered.  I hung them in my craft room.  The I has an envelope that has little notes inside that I can doodle on from time to time :)
